Internalized Calibration (METRIC) has been applied for mapping
surface heat fluxes over tropical deciduous xerophytic woodland
(caatinga). METRIC requires spatially distributed, visible,
near-infrared and thermal infrared spectral data, which can be
derived from TM/Landsat, and limited input data from the field. It
was verified the validation of the model basic assumption, i.e.
the hydrological contrast (dry and wet land surface types), and
the resulting relation between surface temperature and albedo.
Besides, the model provided estimates of net radiation, soil heat
flux and evaporative fraction close to the field data, taken from
a meteorological flux tower situated in caatinga environment.",
